By connecting your LemonStand store to MailChimp, you can win back inactive customers, automatically send abandoned cart emails, recommend products based on past order history, and a whole lot more.

Trust us, they aren’t playing around when it comes to marketing for online retailers.

Here are a few specific examples:

  • Create abandoned cart automation workflows to remind customers what they’ve left behind at your store
  • Send personalized product recommendations for customers based on past purchase behavior
    • For example, send a newsletter specifically to people who have spent over $100 in the last 6 months
  • Subscribe customers to your newsletter using an opt-in checkbox in your store’s checkout

How to connect MailChimp to your LemonStand store

Just navigate to Integrations > Applications in your store’s admin panel. Click on the MailChimp app, and use the link to connect to your MailChimp account (you’ll need to have one already. If you don’t, sign up for MailChimp here).

Connecting is really easy. Just log into your MailChimp account and then choose the list you want your LemonStand store to sync to. After that, just sit back and relax while the sync happens.

How does it work

You can learn more in our help guide here, but here’s a few highlights that are good to note:

MailChimp for LemonStand syncs your customers and their orders to your MailChimp account. Product orders will be stored in contact profiles and campaign reports.

The first time you connect, existing customers who agreed to accept marketing emails will be imported to your MailChimp list as subscribed contacts. Customers who haven’t opted in to email marketing will be added as non-subscribed contacts. After that, we’ll continue to import new customers as subscribed or non-subscribed based on whether they opt in to email marketing at checkout. Generally speaking, abandoned cart customers are imported as non-subscribers.

The sync adds each customer’s first name, last name, email address, and physical address to your MailChimp list.
